After its renovation, Enghaveparken has become part of Copenhagen's largest climate project and is part of the overall cloudburst management of all of Vesterbro, by cleaning and reusing rainwater for recreational purposes.

The new Enghaveparken can retain up to 22,600 m3 of rainwater and surface water from, among others, Carlsberg Byen, so that the many costly floods caused by cloudbursts are avoided and the handling of future increasing rainfall is ensured. The large amounts of surface water from Carlsberg Byen are led to Enghaveparken's underground reservoirs, where it is cleaned in a cleaning zone located behind Enghaveparken's band pavilion and stage.

The purification zone consists of an innovative and environmentally friendly system from WaterCare Filtration that reduces particles, nutrients and heavy metals in the water. The water can then be used for the park's water channels and water jets in the fountain garden.
