There is no difference between an oil separator and a gasoline separator. However, there is a difference between the substances oil and gasoline, which you need to be aware of when handling the different substances correctly. Gasoline has a lower density than oil, which means that gasoline evaporates faster than oil. You must therefore pay extra attention to the vapors when using a separator to handle gasoline.
This type of separator should be used in connection with drains where oily wastewater occurs or where there is a risk of oil spillage, which for both will typically be in places where activities take place that may result in oily or petrol-containing wastewater. These may include, for example, filling or sales points for oil and petrol, workshops for cars and agricultural machinery, larger garages, car washes, workshops for underbody treatment and the like.
