Grease in the drain

When food is handled in the catering industry or produced in the food industry, the presence of water and grease is a given. When water and grease flow down the drain and further into the sewage system, the problem of blockages arises, as water and grease behave very differently. Regardless of whether water is cold or hot, it does not change significantly and flows unhindered through the drain, whether it is ice cold or boiling - with grease, it is a completely different story.
When grease cools, it solidifies and hardens, allowing it to stick and create blockages, preventing water from flowing freely through the system, which can eventually cause inconvenient and time-consuming challenges, including blockages. Fortunately, this can be remedied by connecting a grease trap to the affected drains.

How it works

Specifically, the device works by separating fats from the water that is flushed down the drain. When fatty water is flushed down the drain, it is transported through the pipes to the grease separator, which is a container where the fat is separated from the water through a process. The process, which works by gravity, allows the fat to rise to the surface, while the water remains at the bottom of the container. The water can then flow further into the sewer system, while the fat is retained in the container until it is emptied. The grease separator must be emptied regularly, which is why it should be registered with an emptying scheme.
