Excretion of heavy metals

Heavy metals such as lead, zinc and copper can cause serious environmental pollution if they are not removed from wastewater. We offer solutions that combine physical filtration with chemical binding for effective separation. Our systems are particularly used in industrial areas where heavy metal emissions are a risk. We advise on the choice of technology, dimensioning and regulatory approval, so you get a reliable solution.

Products

HMR is a sorption process where the water with the dissolved invisible contaminants is passed through a cleaning sorbent. The technique is based on adsorption between the natural minerals in the sorbent and the dissolved heavy metals in the water. A significant advantage of this process is that the heavy metals are held in a strong bond, which effectively prevents their release into the aquatic environment.

Plant sizes

Smaller heavy metal separators can handle roof areas from 150–800 m² with smaller flows of e.g. 2 to 20 l/s, while larger heavy metal separators cover +15,000 m² and are often used for road water projects or larger drainage from industry and commerce. For larger installations with large flows e.g. +100 l/s, we offer specially dimensioned solutions with delay and pre-treatment. We assist with dimensioning based on load scenario, available area and discharge requirements.

Sizing and adaptation

Heavy metal separators from WaterCare are designed specifically for the size of the building, roof material and degree of pollution. We combine sand traps and heavy metal separators as needed and can adapt the system to the conditions. If you have limited space or combined drains, we adapt the solution to meet the requirements and is easy to install. Contact us for a special adaptation if you have special conditions or want maximum purification effect.

CE marking and legislation

There is no European standard for CE approval of heavy metal separators, but we ensure that our separators meet all applicable requirements in relation to environmental protection and water treatment, as well as ensuring that the systems meet the requirements for installation for Danish conditions. We ensure that the solution is adapted to local guidelines and supplemented with the necessary documentation. You get a solution that is technically well-documented and legally in order.
