The PR system is designed to effectively remove phosphorus from water, which is essential for preventing oxygen depletion in the aquatic environment. The water is passed through a purifying sorbent, where the dissolved phosphate binds to the sorbent after a short contact time and is held in a strong bond so that it is not washed out again.
Plant sizes
Phosphorus separators are dimensioned based on the amount of water and the desired degree of reduction. Small systems for smaller flows, e.g. 2 to 10 l/s, are used, for example, for wastewater treatment in the open countryside, while larger solutions are included as polishing steps in larger treatment plants, either as pre-treatment or post-treatment of e.g. 60-100 l/s. This may be in connection with the treatment of road water that is to be discharged to phosphorus-sensitive recipients. Dosage, residence time and type of system are determined individually and can also be combined with a heavy metal separator.
Sizing and adaptation
Phosphorus separators require careful dimensioning, and we therefore always adapt the system based on flow,
phosphorus content and discharge requirements. The system can be placed before or after other treatment and combined with, for example, sedimentation and dosing. The systems can also be made as recirculation systems, for example in restoration projects. If you have special limitations in space, power supply or access, we will take this into account and adapt the solution so that it still meets the requirements.
CE marking and legislation
Our phosphorus separators are CE marked if there is a European standard for the individual phosphorus separator. We always design according to current regulations for phosphorus removal in both wastewater and rainwater. We help ensure that the system meets the requirements for dosage, residence time and discharge limits. We assist with technical documentation and advice in connection with regulatory approvals and control measurements.
