Lemvig Port welcomes its sailing guests and many believe that the entrance to the port, consisting of idyllic nature such as steep hills, green trees and a sea of blue waves, is also the most beautiful in the Limfjord. The same applies to the port, which has undergone renovation with a view to climate protection against the several unforeseen water level rises in the Limfjord. Here, the port's existing high water wall was extended by a full 280 m and the port was transformed from an old industrial port to a modern and recreational commercial port. The wall is today known by the locals as “Le Mur”.
The renovation also applied to Lemvig's historic bedding area, which repairs and services the area's smaller vessels. All rainwater and surface water from Lemvig Bedding is led to a retention basin. From here, the water is led, among other things, to a WaterCare Filtration Sand Trap with filter cartridges and then to the innovative and environmentally friendly HMR plant (Class 2) with a built-in sand filter. Here, the water is cleaned of heavy metals so that the water can be discharged without causing environmental damage to the common water environment and further burdening the treatment plants.
