In a time of climate change and increasing resource scarcity, Strandmøllen, one of Denmark's oldest gas suppliers, has taken an important step towards a greener future. The company has implemented an innovative system for recycling rainwater at their production facilities, which reduces the need for clean drinking water and significantly reduces overall water consumption.
How the system works
Rainwater is collected from roofs and other surfaces on the system and then directed to a specially designed tank. This tank is built with several chambers that function as natural filter zones. When the water is used to cool gas cylinders during filling, heat is generated, which is effectively dissipated through the circulating water. The system ensures that any sand particles that may accompany the rainwater are captured in the built-in chambers before the water reaches the pump. This extends the life of the system and ensures stable operation.
