Recycling of condensation water spreads heat in Skanderborg and Hørning

Om projektet

Lokation

Skanderborg-Hørning district heating

At WaterCare, we are proud to have delivered an innovative solution for collecting and recycling condensation water from an air-to-water heat pump. This solution ensures that valuable water, which previously went to waste, is now recycled and used as make-up water at Skanderborg-Hørning Fjernvarme – a win-win solution for both the environment and the district heating company.

The solution includes a 23 m³ WaterCare tank, which is buried outside the Skanderborg-Hørning District Heating building. The tank is cleverly designed with two separate chambers:

Chamber 1 contains an integrated 5 m³ sand trap, which ensures effective pre-treatment of the water to remove particles and impurities.
Chamber 2 has a collection volume of 18 m³, which enables the recycling of the condensation water directly into the district heating system.

The system is complete with a powerful pump that transports the water to the water treatment plant, ensuring that the purified water reaches citizens in Skanderborg, Hørning and the surrounding area.
